Nuit Blanche Art Festival, Paris is all set to thrill comtemporary art lover across France on November 1, 2016 with Anish Kapoor’s ‘Descension’ the vortox right in the middle of the seine river. The show is second in series with Galleria Continua / San Gimignano. The Descension will be visible from Pont Neuf and Pont des Arts.

The Descension, for the first time, was presented by Anish Kapoor during the kochi-muziris biennale in india and then it was showcased in Galleria Continua, San Gimignano. It is Vortex created through seemingly spining of dark water into a hole. ‘Descension’ destabilizes the viewer’s perception of the earth as a solid element and embodies kapoor’s exploration into non-objects as artworks.

In regards to the relationship between fullness and the void, kapoor says, ‘I have always thought of it (the void) … as a transitional space, an in-between space. it’s very much to do with time. I have always been interested as an artist in that very first moment of creativity where everything is possible and nothing has actually happened. it’s a space of becoming.’
